Notifications
Where mentions and other pings surface today, and what's coming.
Notifications in Nura24 are intentionally lightweight today. Everything is in-app; no email pings yet, no push notifications.
What you DO get today
- Mentions —
@-mentionsin internal notes light up the navbar bell. See Mentions. - Unread visitor messages in chat — the chat sidebar shows unread counts per status, updated in real time when WebSockets are connected.
- New tickets in your inbox — the inbox list updates on page navigation; we don't push a notification.
What you DON'T get today
- Email notifications on assigned tickets, new replies, mentions. Planned but not built.
- Browser push notifications — when you have the inbox in a background tab. Not built.
- Desktop notifications (system tray) — not built.
- Slack / Teams integration — not built.
Workarounds for now
- Keep the inbox tab open. Tab badge counts update in real time on chats.
- Refresh after coming back from a meeting. The mentions bell rebuilds on each request; recent mentions appear on next page load.
- Subscribe to your own RSS feed. Joking; we don't have one.
Why we haven't built email notifications yet
Email notifications are easy to write but hard to tune. The "notify me on every reply" pattern leads to notification overload; "notify me on assigned only" misses important context. We want to ship a first version with sensible defaults rather than a configurable mess on day one.
If you have a specific notification need that's blocking you, let us know via the contact form — we prioritize from real requests.
What's coming
Roadmap items (no specific dates):
- Email on mention.
- Email on ticket assignment.
- Optional digest emails for the day's activity.
- Browser push notifications via a permission prompt.
Nothing here will be on by default — opt-in, with reasonable defaults.
